Faculty review the alignment between the course outcomes and general education student learning outcomes.
Faculty work with IA to identify courses and student artifacts that best demonstrate student achievement of general education outcomes.
Faculty submit syllabi for review.
Institutional Assessment Planning
IPAR conducts faculty orientation.
IPAR assists with the identification of different types of student artifacts.
IPAR collects the syllabi in coordination with GEIEC.
Departmental Data Collection
Faculty complete the mapping documents provided by IPAR.
Faculty collect/evaluate student artifacts that best demonstrate student achievement of general education outcomes.
Institutional Data Collection
IPAR assists with the identification and collection of different types of student artifacts.
GEIEC reviews syllabi in coordination with IPAR using a course alignment rubric which includes best features of the course and improvement opportunities.
Departmental Action Plan Development
Faculty review assessment results and submit an action plan.
Institutional Report Writing and Results Dissemination
IPAR prepares the competency-level assessment report and shares it with the faculty.
IPAR shares the assessment results and action plan draft with associate deans/deans.
IPAR shares the assessment results and final action plan with GEIEC.
GEIEC disseminates the results of the syllabi review to faculty and works with faculty to address issues.
Departmental Action Plan Implementation
Faculty implement the action plan.
Departmental Progress Report
Departments submit a progress report on the implementation of the action plan by November 1.
Faculty provide feedback on the assessment process.
Institutional Process Review
Review faculty feedback and examine the process for improvement opportunities.
