Academic Planning
The mission of Academic Planning and Accreditation (APA) is to support faculty development or modification of academic programs, to monitor accuracy of academic publications, and to support the university by addressing emerging and ongoing issues related to academic programs.
ECU faculty update academic programs and curriculum to meet the demands of our society and our students. APA offers support for the processes used to accomplish these initiatives. Academic planning encompasses actions to develop, revise, reconfigure, consolidate, move, and discontinue curriculum and programs. The office works with bodies such as the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee, Graduate Curriculum Committee, Graduate Council, Educational Policies and Planning Committee, Faculty Senate, and the Office of Academic Outreach, Continuing and Distance Education. The office develops resources such as graduate and undergraduate curriculum and program resource materials, checklists, forms, and guidance tools, and manages the Curriculog™ Curriculum Management System.
