General Education Assessment Cycle and Schedule
ECU assesses the general education competencies on a four-year cycle. Faculty completed the first assessment cycle from fall 2016 to spring 2020 for all seven GE competency areas. During these four academic years, two competency areas were assessed each year except for the 2019-20 academic year in which only one competency area was assessed. Currently, the second assessment cycle is underway, spanning from fall 2020 to spring 2024. Similar to the first cycle, two competency areas are being assessed each year, except for the 2023-24 academic year when only one competency area will be assessed. Looking ahead, the third assessment cycle will run from fall 2024 to spring 2028.
